A new wine and cigar bar has opened in the growing town of Tucson, Arizona. Stogie & Vine offers a 1,000-bottle wine cellar, a large selection of scotch and a retail humidor as well as a 2,000 square foot lounge. Private lockers are also available to store cigars. Because the store is also expected to be a place to do business there will be a copier, a fax machine and wireless internet. The club's modern and bright decor is meant to appeal to both men and women and they plan to offer a wide variety of wine, whisky and cigar tasting events. [via Arizona Daily Star]
Marshall McGearty Tobacco Lounge
With smoking bans going into effect all over the country, smokers are getting creative. The Chicago
Tribune has a story on Marshall McGearty Tobacco
Lounge which is located in Wicker Park. The cigar lounge is backed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. The Marshall
McGearty Tobacco Lounge serves wine, beer and bourbon, but because its business license says they are a "tobacco
retailer," they may still be able to allow indoor smoking in 2008, when Chicago's ban goes into effect (as long as
65 percent of the sales come from tobacco sales). The lounge opened in December and offer a variety of high-end tobaccos
from Zimbabwe, Brazil, Malawi, Thailand and Virginia. The article says that R.J. Reynolds isn't ready to speculate about
opening locations else where but if this concept is a success I am sure we will be seeing them elsewhere.
