Bentley Goes Electric with Greenpower

Cute, streamlined, and boasting zero emissions, the new electric Bentley Greenpower tops out at 40mph while running on two 12-volt batteries that power its lightweight motor. Built by a group of Bentley factory apprentices (who are now referred to as Team Bentley) the one-wheel-drive car is comprised mostly of carbon fibre and features a bright chromed grill, Bentley leather interior and a custom Bentley-branded steering wheel. The car will participate in several races throughout the summer with the final one happening at Goodwood in October.

Clue Premier Edition

Some games are just meant to be created in 3-D from the start, and Clue with its many rooms and little murder weapon playing pieces is certainly one of them. The Clue Premier Edition is a luxury board game that is just as fun to play as it is to look at. With each of the 9 rooms designed in sunken 3 dimensional color complete with furnishings, you can look down into the world of secrets and murder and put the clues together one by one to win the game. The only thing missing? Little 3-D people to represent the characters. $150

Loeffler Randall Calfskin Tote, Handbag of the Day

Loeffler Randall's Calfskin Tote comes in a beautiful shade of bright neutral, is of appropriately generous toting size, and is designed in a simple but still interesting shape in soft calfskin leather. Other features include my favorite of a flat base with metal feet (I always love it when I can set my bag down and not have it constantly tipping over), hidden pockets on the front and back where the seams criss-cross, and a golden nameplate on the inside along with two patent-trimmed patch pockets. $685

Misfits Modular Sofa

This is one bright purple couch! The Misfits Modular Sofa both looks like something out of a cartoon and acts like something out of a cartoon with its many shapes and configurations. It consists of corner and central elements along with two footstools, all of which can be arranged pretty much however you want. According to Unica Home the sofa elements "look natural as if shaped by wind and sea," but in my opinion they look more as if shaped by a Muppet. Although I do like it I don't think I could ever take it seriously! It really looks like like something meant to play on, not to relax and have an adult conversation on. Designed by Ron Arad the pieces are sold separately for $3,489 - $7,235.

$300,000 "Day&Night" Watch Doesn't Tell the Time

One of the first releases in the DNA of Famous Legends collection by Romain Jerome was the Titanic DNA watch, featuring oxidized steel salvaged from the real Titanic. The collection is rapidly expanding with several different models now available featuring everything from rust to jewels, but perhaps one of the most noteworthy is the "Day&Night" watch. It doesn't tell the time, it just tells you whether it's day or night.

It may seem like a silly idea but it's really just a reflection of the times -- watches are less and less about actually telling the time (we all have cell phones and PDAs for that now) and more about style and luxury. The Day&Night watch sells for $300,000 and the first lot sold out in just 48 hours. Apparently there are a lot of people looking to know whether it's day or whether it's night -- from their watch.

Designer SIGG Bottles To Stop Global Warming

Plastic water bottles just aren't cool anymore, what with the environment falling apart and landfills filling up at breakneck speed. Sigg bottles have been a staple of many a "green" water drinker for years, and now in the name of fighting global warming they've gone designer. In a collaboration between Elle magazine and environmental activist Laurie David 14 designers (including names like Donna Karan, Kenneth Cole, and Stella McCartney) have each designed a Sigg bottle and put it up for auction, with the proceeds benefiting StopGlobalWarming.org.

Which one is your favorite? Mine would have to be the one by DVF, followed by a close second of Derek Lam's.

D&G Satin Evening Bag, Handbag of the Day

This is an evening bag that should make any woman feel elegant, feminine, and timeless. The D&G Satin Evening Bag has a slight 'old-fashioned' vibe, in a good way, and would be the perfect accessory for a favorite little black dress. Made of fine satin inside and out, plus with polished gold hardware and metal grained leather trim it has the look of shimmering elegance without trying too hard by adding jewels or other bling. The bag folds up to open at the top via a kiss-lock closure and to reveal a D&G logo on the front, just above the pleats. 9 1/2" x 5 1/2" (when folded) x 1/2", $455.

Things to Consider When Buying a Waterproof Watch

In the market for a waterproof watch? You may have trouble finding one, considering few watches (if any) are truly and completely waterproof, and are in reality only water resistant. Water resistance is a term that can mean anything from "withstands minor splashing" to "submersible up to 100 meters," to any number of other definitions. So before you take your $5000 "water-resistant" watch into the swimming pool you may want to check on some details. Maybe it can go cannon balling with you or maybe it should stay sitting safely by your beach towel and flip flops -- either way it's something worth knowing.

Girls Incorporated, Charity of the Day

Girls Inc: Inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Aiming their efforts to all girls, but especially focusing on girls living in high-risk underserved areas, Girls Inc. can be traced back as far as 1864 and was initially started during the Industrial Revolution for the women who were just starting to seek jobs in the textile mills and factories. In todays world the programs aim to help girls and young women triumph over violence and drug issues, and to master important life skills like literacy and personal health.

MZ Wallace Handbags, Handbags of the Day

Sometimes a whole group of handbags deserve to be mentioned as "handbag of the day," because in some cases it's just too hard to narrow it down to a single choice. MZ Wallace was founded in 2000 by Monica Zwirner and Lucy Wallace (hence the name!) and they describe their designs as "innovative yet classic" and "classic with a twist." I'd have to say I agree. As a general rule the colors and shapes of their handbags are simple and straightforward (definitely "classic"), while also getting a tad trendy by adding in unexpected fabric and color combos. How many high-end bags pair sequins with canvas?

The Samsung and Armani HDTV

Armani and Samsung have collaborated again, this time on a premium HDTV design. Revealed for the first time at the opening of the Milan International Furniture Fair. Combining cutting edge technology from Samsung with cutting edge design from Giorgio Armani, this is one sleek 1080p LCD television. Available in 46" and 52" sizes the tv itself is pretty basic looking (although I'm sure it has a more than "basic looking" picture) but the remote control sounds like it puts on quite the light show with "a full range of radiant backlights." Plus there's a smaller pebble-shaped remote for basic functions. Look for the smaller tv model to launch first (in Europe) this summer, with the 52" quickly following.

The Human Fund, Charity of the Day

So I was watching a rerun of Seinfeld the other night and it was the episode where George gave out Christmas gifts that were simply a card that said "A donation has been made in your name to The Human Fund. " It was a charity he had totally made up in order to get out of spending money for real (always the cheapskate!). So out of curiosity I Googled "Human Fund" and guess what? It's a real charity! The Human Fund was established in 2005 and is based in Cleveland, Ohio. It supports arts education programs for under-served children.

I wonder if they see any boost in donations when the syndicated rerun of that episode airs?

The $1,000 Sushi Roll

Going out for sushi always runs slightly on the expensive side, but Koi restaurant in New York is taking it to the extreme with their latest menu addition, the High Roller sushi roll that sells for $1000.

So what does a thousand dollars look like in the form of sushi? Well, it starts with marinated and poached fois gras that is covered with succulent Langoustine (lobster). Then the roll is brushed with saffron/vanilla bean butter and encrusted with caviar. Finally, when the roll is served the Chef comes tableside to shave white Alba truffles and drizzle them with 100 year balsamic.

Enjoy! (I wonder how many people have so far?)

Jean Paul Gaultier Satin Boxing Shopper, Handbag of the Day

Carrying the Satin Boxing Shopper bag by Jean Paul Gaultier is like carrying a feminine little boxing glove with you. With its sporty stripes down each side and ruching to make it looking look like a padded glove, it'll give you an extra feeling of "bad-ass," even if it is pink (ahem, "violet"). But looks are where that tough edge ends, as up close you'll notice it's made of very girly satin. And the elastic band at the top is purely for looks -- the bag actually has no closure, magnetic or otherwise. Inside it has both a center zip pocket and a side one, with a mesh lining. $680

Jet Chef, Catering to Private Fliers

Ugh, airline food. The growing popularity of private jets and jet charters is changing that stereotype, though, as those who can afford it are not only flying, but also eating, in style. Jet-Chef.com is a service for jet owners, pilots, brokers, flight attendants, etc., and offers access to some of the world's best chefs, caterers, and suppliers for the ultimate in in-flight dining. The service comes in the form of a website directory that makes searching by city, state, or airport and getting in touch with high-class gourmet chef and catering services easy and convenient.

Currently Jet Chef is only available in the U.S., but at the rate the private jet industry is growing they expect to be going international in the near future.
